My story

Hi, I’m Jay Gibson!

I am the owner and operator of Gibbo’s Cycling Services. I’m a lifelong cycling enthusiast and professional bike mechanic with over 35 years of experience working on road, mountain, and e-bikes.

I began repairing bikes as a teenager at my local bike shop in the 80s. I then honed my skills at Henry Gregson’s Cycles before starting my own mobile bike repair service.

I’m passionate about providing quality, friendly service to cyclists of all levels, from beginners to seasoned pros. To make life easier for my customers I provide pick-up and drop-off services.

I’ve been on many bike tours. My most memorable cycling experience was witnessing Bradley Wiggins’ historic win at the 2012 Tour de France. I’ll never forget camping out on Le Mandoline, for Stage 11, with a good friend and we saw the peloton race past us, it was incredible.

I recently designed and built my dream bike, a Trek Madone – Project One, which allowed me to showcase my skills and vision. It is a bike with a real wow factor and utilises the latest top-end kit.
